The UK COBRA Medic Course incorporates the FPoS(I) course and the PHECTA Combat Arms Medic Course.

The UK Cobra Medic Course is 78 hours in Duration and includes a testing night exercise.

On successful completion of the UK COBRA Medic you will have the skills and knowledge required by private security companies to enable you to operate as a vital member of a team in the medic role. Successful candidates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to deal with incidents in Hostile & Remote Environments operating as a Tier 1 Medic.

UK COBRA Medics have basic and more advanced life-saving skills which can be used to help trauma patients in hostile environments. The training not only involves roles where you will be able to assist Paramedics, you will also be taught how to undertake advanced skills in emergency situations in hostile and remote environments that would normally only be undertaken by State Registered Paramedics and Doctors here in the UK.

The course shall also prepare you so that if you are required to assist Paramedics and Doctors in certain clinical settings, dependant on your parent organisation’s policies and procedures, you will be able to do so. You may also be required to assist Army personnel such as Combat Medical Technicians working in challenging situations where medical back up is not immediately available.

You will receive training to enable you to be able to give immediate assistance to wounded personnel ranging from minor medical emergencies to major trauma situations.

On successful completion of the UK Cobra Medic Course, individuals will be equipped to deal with wide ranging incidents making a vital difference to critically injured casualties.

The course uses the skills and knowledge of the FPoS(I) Course together with the far more in-depth advanced skills of the Cobra Medic Medic Course in order to equip candidates with the skills required when operating in remote and hostile environments.

Training is delivered by experienced State Registered Paramedics with military medical experience supported by IHCD Technicians.

The course is designed to encompass all of the requirements for those operating as medics in hostile and remote  environments throughout the world in support of British Subjects. The underpinning knowledge gained on the FPoS syllabus together with the enhanced skills and theory of the Combat Arms Medic will give candidates the opportunity to further advance their current medical skills and to operate as an effective Remote Team Medic.
