This course is being constantly appraised and upgraded to ensure it meets the ever increasing demands on medical operatives in the field.

 

 

      

 

The course is designed for those from the military or security organisations who will be working overseas in hostile environments who require additional Medic skills applicable to their role.

 

 

The course covers topics such as:

The course uses a mix of theory, skill stations and practical scenarios to ensure candidates are prepared for additional medical tasks tasks such as:

 

  • CPR and Emergency Life Support

 

  • Bag, Valve, Mask Resuscitator                                          

 

  • Defibrillation

 

  • Hemorrhagic Agents

 

 

 

 

 

  • CAT-Tourniquet    
  • Intravenous Cannulation  

 

 

  • Intraoesious Cannulation              

 

 

  • Endo-Tracheal Intubation       

 

  • Needle Chest Decompression   

 

  • Gunshot Wounds

Delivery of Training for Military and Security Forces

 

 

Training is delivered by Very Experienced Ex-Military and current State Registered Paramedic Instructors with a vast knowledge and experience in Hostile Environment Trauma Management. These courses are primarily arranged by organisations for team medics and Close protection Medic Operatives.

 

We also run open courses for  individual candidates. However, when an individual requires a course, the minimum number of candidates we require per course to make it viable must be no less than 4 candidates.

 

We can include you on a waiting list and offer you dates for courses.

Background

 

The pre-Hospital Emergency Care Training Agency Hostile Environment and Trauma Medics Course (HETMED) course has been designed to take candidates to a  high standard of theory and knowledge that shall enhance their skill level enabling them to deliver emergency life saving techniques in hostile and hazardous conditions. This course is ideal for the  modern Close Protection Operator or anyone who may be visiting a Hostile Enviroment.

 

You will receive training and be shown how to undertake the skills associated with rapid assessment, Intervention, stabilisation and transfer of trauma and medical casualties.

 

The course is designed for those requiring extended skills. The training includes measured theory and practical sessions designed to develop individual candidates skill base.

 

                   
                     
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Previous Experience

 

All Serving and Ex Military personnel who have experienced or are about to be deployed and may experience Combat are elligible due to the nature of current overseas operations undertaken by the Armed Forces, personnel are gaining trauma experience "In The Field" and as such, we recognise the need to train all operatives to a higher standard. Security personnel working in hostile environments are also eligible due to their experiences.

 

 

Our Training Team

 

 

Consist of Experienced Ex-Military personnel , many of whom are State Registered Paramedic Instructors within the NHS and who have a wide variety of knowledge and experience in hostile environment Trauma Management work including close protection, surveillance, medical and tactics. 

 
 
 

Our staff are able to truly relate to hostile environment casualty management and will help guide and skill you up to enable you to be fit for purpose when deployed either as part of HM Forces or as an operative with a security agency.

 

 

We understand the various roles you may be tasked with can range from babysitting tasks to recognisance and fighting patrols, where you have limited or no immediate medical back up.

Learn skills that will help you deal with traumatic injuries in hostile environments from the jungles of South America to the barren cold climate of the Falkland Islands or Norway to the hot and uncompromising areas of Afghanistan. Basically from the Artic to the Equator and on to the Ant-Artic, these skills will enhancy your ability to perform when the need arrises. 

 

 

 

 

 

You will become an asset to any team as a medic once you have completed this course.

 
 
 

Be it a car fire on the M25 or an IED taking a vehicle out in Afghanistan, you will be equipped with the skills to deal with such incidents when the pressure is really on.

 

 

Duration

We understand that operational commitments, preperation for operations and other duties place severe restrictions on the ability of personell to be released from their duties to attend training courses. this is why we have condensed the days you are required to spend with us from 5 days down to just 3 days. In order to fulfill your training needs, we have extended the training hours from the usual 6 hour days (30Hours) to 32 hours.

 

The Military course is held over three days and achieves 32 hours training as follows:

 

  • Day 1 consisting of 12 Hours held between 0800hrs - 2000hrs   
  • Day 2 consisting of 12 Hours held between 0800hrs - 2000hrs 
  • Day 2 consisting of  8 Hours held between  0800hrs - 1600hrs

Accommodation

 

For this course we are able to arrange your accommodation for you if you wish. The Total cost of the course and accommodation when booked through us is just £500.00 per person and includes 3 nights stay.

 

For those wishing to source their own accommodation,  we will supply a list of recommended accommodation for those attending these courses. It is advised that those attending the course book into the advised accommodation as following each day on the course, instructors will attend the accommodation to assist in any additional training and to offer advice in an informal manner.

 

Accommodation is usually less than £40.00 per person per night. Discounts may be available for group bookings.

Accommodation

 

Accommodation can only be booked through us if booked & paid for  early. Otherwise we shall provide a list of recommended accommodation for you to arrange.

The accommodation is usually for the night before the course commences to the last morning of the course.
